Privacy notice

Who is responsible

The data controller is Human Resistance, [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. Contact: [PRIVACY EMAIL].

What we collect

When you sign we collect your first name, last name, email address, country of residence, and city if you give it. We also record the date, your two optional choices, the language of the page, and how you reached the site (a referral code or campaign tag in the link), if any. We keep a one-way scrambled version of your connection address for a short time to stop abuse. We do not store the address itself.

Why we use it and on what legal basis

We use your data to confirm your signature, count it and deliver the petition to governments and international meetings. The legal basis is your consent, given when you sign (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). Because signing a political petition can reveal political opinions, we rely on your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)).

If you ticked the box to show your name publicly, we display your first name and country in the list of recent signers. Never your last name, email or city.

Only if you ticked the box asking for updates will Human Resistance email you about this campaign and its other campaigns. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. When we deliver the petition we may share names and countries with the recipients, never email addresses. Our hosting and email providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements. Some of them may process data outside the European Economic Area, with safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep signatures until the campaign ends and the petition has been delivered, then delete or anonymise them within [RETENTION PERIOD]. Unconfirmed signatures are deleted after [UNCONFIRMED RETENTION PERIOD]. If you asked for updates we keep your email for that purpose until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before. Write to [PRIVACY EMAIL]. You can also complain to a data protection authority, in particular the one where you live or [LEAD SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY].

Cookies and analytics

This site uses no tracking cookies. We measure visits with cookieless analytics that do not identify you, so no cookie banner is needed.
